User account

Faculty, staff, and students at Munich University of Applied Sciences can obtain a user account from Information Technology Services, the university’s computer centre. A user account serves as a form of electronic identification and is required for accessing many of the university’s services, such as:


  • University email address
  • Wi-Fi( WLAN)/VPN/eduroam login
  • LMS – Moodle access
  • Access to specific rooms with MUAS ID Card
  • Computer use in specified IT laboratories


Under certain circumstances, temporary visitors can be provided with a user account that has a limited range of functions.

University email address

Your university email address consists of your username, which is derived from your surname, followed by @hm.edu. In order to access your email by OWA (Outlook Web App) you have to use the prefix “ads\hm-“ followed by your username


All university communications will be sent to your university email address. You will receive general circular mailings and specific information relating to your studies or work at the university via this address.


You can access your email using the webmail-client OWA or any standard e-mail client program.
